    Hello there,

First off, I’ve been using this plugin for years. It’s a great plugin so far, I rarely touch them once it configured.

Recently, I got an error on uploading images in Nextgen Gallery. It only said there is a permission issue.

I have a FEW references on this error. Mostly you will end up on checking of the chmod of wp-content folder, use google chrome, update flash component, until make sure the size image and upload file limitation in configuration file.

Just to help others, and maybe myself a couple years later :D, you might want to disable a cache plugin (I use WP Super Cache), upload the images to nextgen gallery, and enable the cache plugin again.

Nextgen did tell you to disable all plugins and in some case turn back the themes to original (?). It’s a quick fix, even though I hope there will be a seamless solution from Nextgen without turning off the known incompatible plugin just to upload images to gallery.

    Cheers

@huangeffendi – As this appears to be something different as to what you were/are expecting, do you recall what changed on your site from the last time you were able to upload as expected?

    Hi Cais,
We didn’t change anything on the environment. The last change (I think), we switch to WP Super cache from Total Cache. And it’s been a while since we post an article using the Nextgen Gallery. I’m lucky enough, I had other WP Site that we can tested on and found out, that we had to disable the cache plugin to avoid the ‘permission issue’.

If you could involve a tester to simulate this error and found a root cause, that will helps a lot. NextGen Gallery has and will still be our choice though, it’s a great plugin.

@huangeffendi – We’re not seeing any sort of issue with WP Super Cache such as what you are describing which may point to something specific to your environment / plugin settings that could be causing this.

    Thanks!

    – Cais.
