• I am in the building stage of putting up a website for my school’s newspaper, and in our first attempt to place an image in a post, we’ve found that none of the media is showing up. Whenever we try to place it in a img code line, or even view it in our media library, what will show is a picture of what looks like a battery with lines running through it. Here is an example at the bottom of this page:

    However, if I click ‘view’ through the media library, and click on the image again, it will show the full sized image in its respective page. Because of this, I’m inclined to think this is a problem with the thumbnails showing, but I’m not sure. The only solution I can find on any topic remotely close to this is altering file permission, but I don’t know how to do this, lack a program to do this, and don’t want to do something that technical without certainty that I need to.

    I am very new to using wordpress, so please be detailed in your responses. Thanks.

  • Hi,

    Check with these options:

    -> Assign 755 recursive permissions to wp-content folder. You can assign permissions from SSH. If you do not have an access of SSH then you need to contact hosting service provider to grant the permissions.

    -> Upgrade your wordpress to the latest version.

    -> Disable all the plugins.

    Thanks,

    Shane G.

    I also have this problem.Just Upgrade WordPress version and it’s OK.
    Thank you very much.
