Unable to view pages or post

I am trying to customize this theme and had it working before. I have ripped it apart and started fresh, pulling from the old database and the posts and pages still reside on the database it seems. Clicking on a page or post gives me a 404 error for all of them. Not sure if I have moved it into an improper directory or not. It resides in the root directory and initially I set it up so that is was in a /wordpress/ directory. Would I set it up differently in the database or would I dictate where the installation is in config files.
