Unable to view Preview of Post

  • When I am in “Draft” mode and click on “Preview” in the “Publish” pane a new page opens up that says “Not Found”
    If I change the status of the page to “Pending Review” and Save the page I get a page with a message on it that says “You do not have permission to preview drafts” when I click on “Preview”.

    I am administrator on a standalone wordpress 4.0 site and write my own blogs.

    Can any one help please?

  • check your permalinks – (dashboard->settings->permalinks) tr setting them to ‘default’ and see what happens, then set them back to what you have now.

    Thank you for your response. Unfortunately it was not the permalink setting.

    However prompted by your suggestion I looked in the General settings. Here I had given a different URL for the home page from the site URL.

    When I adjusted this the Preview system worked.
