Unable to view very top bar

I am trying to add an email subscription to the very top bar in a custom html widget (have also tried text widget using shortcode). Got it to show up perfectly, then saved/published, closed window and reloaded, and it has now disappeared behind the header. The code is there but I can no longer see the email signup. Help please!
