Unable to write data to POP3 server

I had Postie up and running beautifully when I shut down for the day yesterday, but overnight, no emails were posted and I log a number of errors:

[Fri Jul 16 15:54:47.349844 2021] [fcgid:warn] [pid 18917:tid 3670963898112] [client 208.97.136.131:39774] mod_fcgid: stderr: PHP Fatal error: Uncaught fConnectivityException: Unable to write data to POP3 server pop.dreamhost.com on port 995 in /home/user/alerts.ladottransit.com/wp-content/plugins/postie/lib/pSocketConnection.php:148, referer: https://alerts.ladottransit.com/wp-cron.php?I was initially getting an “unable to write data to POP3” error yesterday, but that was resolved by choosing the POP3SSL protocol. Unfortunately that didn’t last, and I’m getting the same error with the SSL protocol enabled.
I’ve been working with my host on this today, but so far they can’t see a reason on their end why writing to the POP3 server would fail. Would greatly appreciate any suggestions or guidance. Thanks!
