Unable to write to your .htaccess or nginx.conf file.

Hi, I use nginx server and am running the wordpress site with the iTheme Security.
However, I dont know why everytime I change the setting, the dashboard keeps telling me “Unable to write to your .htaccess or nginx.conf file. If the problem persists contact support.”
I have disabled the “Protect System Files”, and the “Remove File Writing Permissions” either.
Could anyone please help to correct this problem?
(I couldn’t see the .haccess and nginx config files, do I need to ssh to modify them? and how to? .. )
