I am a developer for a website that uses Woocommerce.

The issue we are having is when someone tries to place an order, and puts, 5 meals in their cart, and hits proceed, a message comes up saying unauthorized access.

I get no errors, nothing. It seems to work fine for a few days, then blocks everyone out that is either logged in or our new.

    Any ideas where to start?

    Thank you!

    Hi @igotasolutions ,

    Thanks for reaching out!

I understand that customers are receiving an “Unauthorized access” message when clicking on “Proceed to Checkout”, is this correct?

Does this only occur when 5 meals are placed in the cart, or does this happen regardless of the number of items in the cart?

As a first step, I’d suggest checking the settings of any security plugins you may have installed on the site. Look for any settings that may be blocking access to the checkout page, such as rate limiting. Try adjusting these settings to see if it resolves the issue.

Alternatively, you can disable any security plugins and see if this makes any difference.

Also, you can check your server-side error logs. These can be very helpful in troubleshooting an issue like this as they may contain information about any errors or warnings that occurred during the time that the unauthorized access message appeared on the checkout page.

Since this is an intermittent issue, and one you are unable to replicate on your end, it can be difficult to identify what is causing the issue however I would suggest trying to keep an eye out for any patterns (e.g: customers from specific locations) and ask customers for a screenshot of the exact error they are seeing on their end.

Additionally, I’d like to get a better understanding of the sites current environment, could you please share a copy of the following:

    • System Status Report: navigate to?WooCommerce?→?Status. Select?Get system report?and then?Copy for support.
    • Fatal Error log: Share a copy of any fatal error log (if any) found under?WooCommerce?→?Status?→?Logs.

Once you have these, please share them in your response here.

    Cheers!

    Hi @igotasolutions ,

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.

    Cheers!
