Unauthorized username

  • I just received an email notifying me that; Password changed for user: wpmark321. Problem is there is no such person should have access to my website. Have I been hacked or what?

  • Could be. Have you logged in to see if that user is listed in the User’s area?

    Ah. He is listed as a subscriber.
    Thank you. Don’t understand why I would be notified of his password change. First time in 7 years this has happened.

    If you allow folks to subscribe to the site, they will need to create an account. They could then ask for the password to be reset and as the site admin, you would be sent an email re the request (just in case).
