No idea how this happened but I have 2 instances of Uncanny Automator in the custom admin panel plugin. Now I get this error “We found there were 2 or more items in the top level of your menu that have the same destination URL. This can cause unexpected results. As a result we won’t save the settings until the issue is corrected. We have highlighted these items red. Please change one of the URL’s or delete one of the menu items.” This is the highlighted URL “edit.php?post_type=uo-recipe.” If I delete the URL and try to save I get a similar error but now it indicates a URL is missing. The message says “delete one of the menu items,” but you cannot delete an item in this plugin, only gray it out, which I can’t do because of the URL issue. I seem to be stuck and cannot make any changes to the admin panel.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @lynpearson,

That is a strange one, but I can see how you could get stuck in this situation.

In this situation I would recommend 2 things. One is you can try deleting the menu and just try starting again and see if that works. You can delete the menu settings by going to Custom Admin Interface > Manage Settings, then open the Delete Plugin Settings accordion item, and select “Admin Menu” and then click the “Delete settings” button.

The other option I can think of is just giving that duplicate menu item a unique link. So this could be index2.php for example, this will enable you to save it.

There’s another way, but it’s a bit more advanced. If you open your browser developer console, you can just delete the HTML for the duplicate menu item, and save the settings and this should hopefully permanently remove the duplicate.

Unfortunately dealing with some 3rd party plugins there can be quirks like this. Thanks

Changing the link did the trick. I loaded the plugin and decided it didn’t work the way I expected so I disabled and deleted it. Did not realize it created 2 instances until I tried to update the admin menus. Never saw this before and as you say, it’s strange. Thanks for your assistance.
