Uncaught TypeError in the file /wp-admin/includes/post.php on line 1712

Not sure what to suggest thus far, as nothing looks specific to CPTUI overall.

We don’t do any hooking into things that integrate directly into the list tables.

We also don’t explicitly do anything with wp_check_post_lock or wp_check_post_lock

I am doubtful that the post type slug in question is causing issues, as it looks unique enough to not be used by WordPress core.

Can you provide the blob of content on the right side of /wp-admin/admin.php?page=cptui_tools and the “Post Types” tab. I could see if I can recreate and maybe look over the settings for the post type in question, just in case.

Overall, I’m not managing to recreate any fatal errors in that view, after importing the post types and taxonomies, but that could still be a difference in regards to content created for them already too.

I am noticing that I’m getting an error for the kindness101 taxonomy when trying to add a term to a post, which might be related, but might not. That said,kindness101 being both a post type and a taxonomy could also be contributing issues, and could be worth exploring on a DEV site where you delete say the taxonomy version (this wouldn’t delete the terms, and you should be able to re-register afterwards and retain all the term information), and see if that fixes things.

I don’t know how much of any sort of “hard rule” it is, but I generally recommend avoiding naming post types and taxonomies with the same slugs, because it can cause internal WordPress core issues.

Beyond that, due to the volume of plugins involved in your install, it’s going to be impossible to debug further on my end, and given that I’m not managing to recreate with a generally bare install, makes me think something else, somewhere else is contributing to the error.

where’s the db tables for the data maybe i can reset it from there. even if i delete the post type and recreate it it gives me the same error.

You can use the CPTUI > Tools menu for quick copy/paste backups of the settings and the UI for deletion. Shouldn’t need to get directly into the database that much.

so the issue appears to be in “drafts” — I found the drafts that were missing and moved them all to pending so we could see them. It still says there are 5 posts in drafts, but nothing is actually showing up.

wondering if we could move those missing 5 out and then delete/recreate the post type, if it would resolve

can we delete the drafts from the db and then recreate that particular post type?

I don’t see why not, worth a shot, though I’m admittedly not sure what it’ll do, given the original error.
