This plugin claims to solve an issue that’s I’d really like a solution for…

    But it has issues.

    1. The plugin has ‘No header’ which causes an error when installing. It worked for me when I activated it on the plugin page rather than on the install page.

    2. The settings consist solely of a single checkbox that says vaguely “Allow Patreon Level to Override Membership Level”

    3. The developers website https://uiux.me/ where we’d get documentation and support seems to be broken.

This leaves unanswered questions about how the plugin works:
    – Do we need the Patreon Plugin in addition to this one for the plugin to work? I’d assume so. (https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/patreon-connect/)

    – Can users become members on either Patreon or Paid Memberships Pro, or both?

    – What happens to users that already have a WordPress account on your site before they upgrade to a membership?

If I find the answers, I’ll update this post. Also you can check out if I got them working on my site Discover Earth.

    Cheers

    Update to the above
    – The Patreon plugin mentioned above is 100% necessary for this plugin to work.
    – I’ve disabled the ability for users to get PMPro memberships. The only way to get in is via Patreon. But I didn’t fully research whether they could also sign up via PMPro.
    – If a user already has a WordPress account, they have to sign in to it first, THEN go back to the /wp-login.php page and log in as a Patreon. This will sync the accounts.
If a user does not have a WordPress account, then logging in via Patreon will create a new account for them.

This is how the “Override” checkbox works. If override is off:
All members, including synced Patreon members, are treated as non-members by Paid Memberships Pro.

    If override is on:
All Patreon members get all rights. There are no member levels.

So this plugin gives Patreon users all or nothing access using PMPro settings. The plugin says this:

“Patron Memberships is designed to work perfectly with Paid Memberships Pro. Once enabled, a users contribution level to your Patreon campaign will be matched with all relevant membership levels.”

But that is not my experience. If I find a way and I’m wrong, I’ll update this thread again.

Good luck to anyone who reads this!
    Cheers
