    It unclear to me what the sequence is to register/signup for a course. Here is the sequence I presently have to follow to get to a course and take it:

    register->view course->become a member->register again->sign up.

    I’m sure I’m missing something. Thanks.

  • Hey @paul,

    This first registration is not defined by LifterLMS unless you’ve added this to your flow somehow, additionally, if you do force registration to view a course you won’t have to register again after clicking “become a member” because you’d already be logged in.

    Are you certain everything during that first registration is functioning properly? How are you setting things up to enable that, is it via LifterLMS functions or another plugin?

    Do you have a link to your website where I can see this first hand?

    Thanks for the reply:

    Here’s all I have so far: https://provisionhouse.org/course/the-breaking-the-chains-seminar/

    I’m using LifterLMS for registering, not 3rd party plugins.

    I am experiencing the issue with each “test” registration I create in an incognito window.

    Thx.

    Hey Paul,

    Looks like you have a few issues in your settings…

    1) You don’t need to create a membership to enable registration
    2) Your “My Courses” page appear to be configured as the “Courses” page which is supposed to display a list of courses.

    There may be other issues but it’s hard to determine.

    May I suggest watching a few videos at https://demo.lifterlms.com/course/how-to-build-a-learning-management-system-with-lifterlms/ to get an overview of how your settings should look?

    Thomas,

    I’ve watched the videos, but on your advice I went back and rewatched them several times while pausing frequently to check settings and cross-check with the documentation.

    I finally got it, but I must say that it took more than intuition to figure this out due to what seemed to be needed clarification with the workflow.

    For me, it was not intuitive, but I did get there, albeit via days of experimentation.

    With thanks,

    Paul

    P.S. Marking this as “resolved”.

    @paul,

    I am painfully aware that our onboarding isn’t good. I’m working on it. And I appreciate you struggling through it.

    Take care,
