Uncropped Gallery Thumbnails

  • I love how I can get image gallery thumbnails of vertical photos uncropped using Virtue. But horizontals still get cropped square. Is there any way to display my horizontal images thumbnails uncropped as well?

  • Hey,
    Just to clarify the gallery is designed to crop all images square in the free theme. Thats how it’s set up. The reason your vertical images aren’t cropped is because they are smaller then the set crop. The crop is set to 400×400 for example and your vertical image is not at least that wide. So it’s not cropped because the crop doesn’t grow images.

    So if you want all your images to not be square just make sure you upload theme smaller then 400px tall.

    The premium theme has an option for a masonry style gallery where the images are not resized by a crop but based on whatever ratio the image is. This isn’t a built in option with the free theme though.
