• We attempted to install the Fuzzy Recent Posts Plugin and couldn’t get it to work. Tried loading several other plugins and kept getting same undefined function error for all of them. WordPress works great without plugins. What are we missing?

  • You should do a search for “recent posts” first. There have been several threads yesterday and today about this. There may be a solution in there. Or perhaps you might leave word on the developer’s site, since he’s in beta on all these plugins again, so he may like to know where the problems are.

On other plugin problems…. I don’t know, who’s your host, and could you provide a site link?

Feed me, Seymour! Need more info. Not the least of which is what “same undefined function” and did it just start ocurring or have you never been able to use plugins?

this is likely due to auto-correction code that I had inserted in the plugin.

I’ve removed it and uploaded a new version — download it again and it should work.

the monkey wrench though is the “loading several other plugins… same… error” – unless they all happen to be yours.

    Yeah,

on the one side, say, recent comments at is just as likely to be installed at:

    plugins/sem-recent-comments.php
    plugins/sem-recent-comments/sem-recent-comments.php
    plugins/sem-recent-v2/sem-recent-comments.php (if xslt didn’t work)

and then, the total newbie uploads files in a different location and activates the plugin. this invariably results in a function cannot redefined error. and invariably, the total newbie rushes to the forums crying ‘MY BLOG IS BROKEN!!!’.

on the other, I try to sort this out and to avoid the error, introducing more problems because there’s essentially no way for me to know if the plugin was installed ‘where it should be’. and users get function undefined errors. sigh… ??
