• For the past two weeks now my site download speeds have been quite erratic. But mainly very slow. This coincided with installing WP3.1

    My site is https://www.palacemag.co.uk

I tweaked W3 Super Cache, didn’t work too well. So now I’m using WP Supercache with MaxCDN for content delivery.

I have deleted most of my plugins and I’m now down to 10. I have deleted all my flickr, facebook and twitter badges and just use my media library images with links.

I feel that I have pared my site down to a baer minimum just to get a passable speed on home page.

    My other pages are slow:
    1. With a google calendar now often give me a time out error:
    The following error(s) occurred: http_request_failed
Operation timed out after 5 seconds with 0 bytes received

My site is small with low traffic.
I did start getting the Silence is Golden index.php ‘hack’. So Ive installed the appropriate plug in to counter that.

I have been through all diagnostic tools: firebugs Net tool, pingdom tool and wabpagetest.org.

I have made may tweaks but cant think of any more. I cant strip any more off my site.

Godaddy is my host and they assure me there is nothing wrong their end.

    Hoping someone can help.

    Regards

    Chris
