Understanding AO and PageSpeed Insights
-
My mobile score on PageSpeed Insights is in the 90s, but I’m being ticked for six long tasks I find confusing. They are
URL Start Time Duration https://www.example.com 1,224 ms 124 ms /analytics.js(www.google-analytics.com) 2,304 ms 101 ms https://www.example.com 1,125 ms 99 ms …js/autoptimize_a0d45bc….js(www.example.com) 2,430 ms 78 ms Unattributable 1,407 ms 70 ms https://www.example.com 1,348 ms 59 ms
Instead of three references to my site URL plus the one parenthesized in the AO reference, I assumed I would only be seeing the AO reference plus GA plus the unattributed one.
My settings are:
JavaScript Optimize JavaScript Code? Aggregate JS-files? CSS Optimize CSS Code? Aggregate CSS-files? Also aggregate inline CSS? Generate data: URIs for images? Inline all CSS? Exclude CSS from Autoptimize: wp-content/cache/, wp-content/uploads/, admin-bar.min.css, dashicons.min.css HTML Optimize HTML Code? Keep HTML comments? MISC Save aggregated script/css as static files? Minify excluded CSS and JS files? Enable 404 fallbacks? Also optimize for logged in editors/ administrators? Enable configuration per post/ page? Images - none checked Critical CSS - nothing Extra Remove Google fonts Remove emojis Preload specific requests (two above the fold front page images)
I’m also using a caching plugin, taking care not to duplicate AO settings.
Is this many site URL task loadings in addition to AO normal, or is there some AO setting I’m missing which would reduce my number of long tasks?
Thanks,
