Understanding the editor logic??!!

    First a warning that this may not be something that is Neve specific. So sorry in advance.

    But…

    I am totally loosing my mind.

    This new editor in WordPress, I have really tried to get used to it and like it.
    I just don’t understand the logic of it, and some very, VERY, fundamental stuff is like IMPOSSIBLE to find.
    And I’m a very experienced web developer, having tried all the big platforms.

    Take this example. This is my current view after clicking on Pages–>New

    First of all, the actual NAME of the page cannot be set ANYWHERE????????????? I’m very surprised I’m actually getting seriously frustrated about this small thing.

    Like, YES… i see the cute big TITLE they want me to start type. But regardless of the content, where on earth do i set the page name before i even begin the content? I saved without anything and it became “(no title)” – but I cant set the name anyhwere when clicking to edit this page…. like what is happening………?!

    And then the 2nd thing. I managed to click the Page Setting thing which made it MOVE TO the middle. And its impossible to draw it back………………………………………

    I like the wordpress idea and all the wonderful things, but some stuff is just so idiotic i cannot find words.

    Please help

  • I’m quite new to WordPress as well.

    There are two ‘editors’:
    – ‘Customize’ is quite general: site-wide stuff like title, icon, layout, etc.. You can enable and disable titles there I think.
    – ‘Edit Page’ is only for the page: add blocks, colors, buttons, etc…

    And than there is the Neve options (top-right corner icon in the Edit Page.

    It’s a bit of a learning curve and sometimes it’s better/easier/faster to just type code. I’m still working this one out tho.

    Thank you for using Neve and for reaching out!

    The new WP editor is not something we can change and indeed I can see how it can be difficult to adjust to. However, you should be able to set the title of the page in your screenshot by completing the ADD Title field. If that doesn’t work for some reason, then you can also edit the title by going to Dashboard > Pages > Quick Edit the “No Title” page and change the title there.

    As for your last inquiry, I think that might be related to some plugin conflict. Please make sure you are using the latest version of the theme and then check for plugin conflicts by deactivating all of them and see if the issue persists. Then start activating them back one by one until you find the one that breaks the format.
