Just got Updraft setup on a few sits and it seems to work well, but I’ve run into an odd problem that doesn’t appear to have an apparent solution.

The first time I setup Updraft to save DBs and Plugins to S3, clicked Backup Now, and it did so perfectly, and did so again the next day at the same time. A few days later I made some changes to the Updraft settings, and manually clicked the Backup Now button to initiate the backup, did a check and it worked fine again.

However, Updraft now backs up files twice a day. Once at the time used on the original setting. And once again at the time of the second Backup Now initiation.

How can I get rid of the first backup time setting?

    Hi,

Could you install a plugin called WP-Crontrol? This will allow you to see all scheduled tasks that WordPress is handling.
Then could you navigate to Tools->Cron Events, and send a screenshot of that page?

How are your backup schedule settings configured?

I see multiple Updraft events in WP Control. One scheduled for early evening (the last update to settings, as expected), and another scheduled in a couple of hours (the original settings).

Would it be safer and easier to deactivate and delete Updraft, then re-install with the proper settings?

And, thanks for the heads up on WP Control. Great utility.

    Hi,

You should be able to delete the UpdraftPlus events via WP Crontrol.
After doing so, go back to your UpdraftPlus settings and re-save them. This should generate new CRON events (One for files and one for the database).

    Does this fix the issue?

I see multiple Updraft events in WP Control.

You might want to confirm that there are multiple UD events _of the same name_. It’s normal to see two events in there – one for files, one for DB.

I deleted all. Then deleted Updraft. Then installed Updraft and setup Settings at a better time. A nice feature requisition would be an option to schedule the backups at a specific time; day, date, time.
