• WordPress 6.3.2
    WP-Optimize 3.2.19

    All Other Plugins Deactivated

    Observations:

WP-Optimize has worked as expected and as advertised for me before (and in the same server environment on the same hosting account).

For some reason, WP-Optimize has started throwing this issue when starting a new Preload session.

Problem persists when all other plugins are deactivated. (I’m at a loss and require insight and advice.)

    • When manually beginning a Preload I receive the Infamous (and long reported) “Unexpected Error”.
    • Dismissing error results in WP-Optimize getting stuck on “Loading URLs”.
    • A page refresh is required resulting in … “Loading URLs”.
    • A 2nd page refresh results in a 20% chance of a False Preload Success message “Last preload completed on…” or a 80% of a working Preloading message of “Preloading page 60 of 120”.

I’ve scoured through the support forums and this is a long time, well documented issue. Is there a workable solution which generates reliable results? Thank you for your time & consideration of this issue going forward.

    Hi,

Do you have a plugin that generates a site map, if so which one?

I’m using Smartcrawl as my SEO & Sitemap plugin.

The problem is persistent and occurs across all following situations:

    • Smartcrawl is activated and generating a sitemap.
    • Smartcrawl is activated but using WordPress’s own sitemap.
    • Smartcrawl is deactivated.

Can you try installing the plugin Rank Math and use this for your sitemaps (just as a test, you can remove the plugin again straight after)

Could you also send us your php error logs?

@vupdraft I’ll try Rankmath and send a copy of my logs later today.

    Observations:

    • RankMath does not throw the same error, but it also doesnt always cache every page. There are 94 pages on site.
      • Starting from an empty cache: WP-Optimize & RankMath Sitemap will preload 83, next time only 32, sometimes 65, maybe 94.
    • I couldn’t find any php-log errors relating to this ??.
    • I returned to SmartCrawl in an attempt to trigger a php-log error – and WP-Optimize began giving me zero errors.

    Experience:

This error will return unexpectedly. I will record the log and return with detailed information to report.

What WP version and php version are you using?

I can then try and recreate the issue
