    Hello Support,

On our soft launched site we get unexpected inclusions in searches. So searching for ‘Cheeky’ or ‘Possum’, we get the five expected results and two unexpected, namely, the last two, “Pearls of ‘Wisedom’, Books One/Two”. I have searched these last two titles and can find no product data, tag, category, whatever, that might lead to their inclusion.

Is it possible in some way to trace the basis for their inclusion?

    Debug data.

Incidentally, on a localhost site with very similar data, these two titles are not included.

BTW, it’s an amazing plugin. Thank you.

    Regards,
    Barry

    Hi,

It is definitely in there somewhere. Unfortunately it is not possible to trace without actual database access, and even then it is quite difficult.
I am guessing either taxonomy term or a custom field. I suggest turning off category search, and then custom field search as well to see if anything changes.

    Best,
    Ernest M.

    Hi Ernest,

    Hero!

Yes it was in the custom fields, which we don’t make overt use of in the product edit UI, so normally not shown. I’ve learnt something about ‘New Draft’ when copying a product; look at the custom fields. Which since we aim to have lots of product authors, needs to be clearly stated in the instructions.

Following you on Twitter. Thankfully, I don’t have a Facebook account.

    Best regards,
    Barry
