Unfollowing Issue

“Follow” you where? Kindly elaborate on what you mean by “follow me”, as WordPress doesn’t have any such built-in feature.

Are you referring to the email signup form on your site (with the big FOLLOW button)? Or are you referring to following you on any of your social media profiles below that?

This does not have to do with any social media profiles, just the following of my blog. I have a reader (and now I think there is a second one experiencing this issue too) where she selects to follow me then the next day she goes to read my blog and it doesn’t show she is following me. I am self hosted so perhaps this is an issue with Jetpack b/c I believe that is who supplies my follow button?? I’m really confused and would love your help! Thank you!

But I still don’t understand what you mean by “follow” in the context of “following of my blog” or “selects to follow me” — as WordPress itself doesn’t have any built-in FOLLOW feature.

I asked this earlier, but you didn’t confirm it. Are you referring to the FOLLOW button in the right sidebar, where people enter their email address and click the FOLLOW button?

If not, let’s break this down to 3rd-grade level (where I belong).

What specific action does one take in order to “follow” you or your blog?

When this action is taken, what’s supposed to happen… that is apparently not happening right now?

So, I just entered my email address into the opt-in form in your sidebar and clicked the FOLLOW button.

After this, I received an email (from WordPress.com, developers of the JetPack plugin you’re using for this asking me to click a link to confirm I want to subscribe and follow your blog.

I clicked the link, which took me to a WordPress.com confirmation page that also said:

You will receive an email at [email protected] whenever a new post is made on these sites. Unfollow a blog to stop receiving emails from that blog.

So people who CONFIRM to subscribe or FOLLOW your blog are supposed to receive an email when you post new stories. Even after the confirmation, they will continue to see the FOLLOW button and opt-in form on your site.

My questions:

1) First, is this the FOLLOW you’re talking about?
2) Was the subscription confirmed?
3) If it was confirmed, is the person not receiving email notifications of new posts? (Again, the FOLLOW button on your site shows for everyone whether they are active followers or not)
