Unidentified and not authenticated – Session Expired

    Hi,

    How can a session expire for Unidentified and not authenticated? And i see no login for that user?

    Session Expired. User session has expired (RealUserName). Logging out.

    Because you see no login, doesn’t means it’s not authenticated. There are several possibilities for this, the 1st being that the user logged-in before and the logs for that activity has expired.

    In this case the user made a request to the site. Their login cookies/session wasn’t valid, so they essentially were in a state of not being logged-in (because the session was expired). Shield enforces the logout regardless of the reason – it doesn’t care. In this case no forceful logout was necessary, but Shield initiated a “WordPress logout” anyway.
