• i installed wp on a subdomain; thing got a little messed up so i uninstalled it; however the page is still up on my site; the links work, but I can’t log in becuase the login.php file is not there. I downloaded a new copy of wp and tried to replace the login.php file – this didnt’ work either.

There are 3 photos on the page that I cannot even find in the files on my site – what the heck is with that?

How can i get access to the admin panel to delete this blog and start over?

  • Well you should be able to just delete the WordPress files with something like Filezilla FTP and then delete the MySQL database.

I have Fetch – an ftp program, but I cannot find the files to delete them – even the photos – I have opened every folder and cannot find them at all!

I’ve already delted the MySQL database – I don’t get why the rest of the stuff won’t go away.

I have a similar problem. I found that I could NOT add a folder, or access other folders, under my domain so that I could continue to use it for things other than the wordpress blog.

That’s unacceptable. So I attempted to find a work around…and uninstall.

Nothing I’ve done will accomplish that. The blog still dominates the domain, and will NOT go away.

Yes, I remembered to dump my cache.

What gives here? Having a domain shouldn’t dedicate the entire domain site to ONE thing only, the blog.

And why hasn’t this been resolved for the inquirer above. He must be fuming.

I found that I could NOT add a folder, or access other folders, under my domain so that I could continue to use it for things other than the wordpress blog.

    That’s crap.
Who is your host? Did you do a manual install initially or did you use some obscure “one-click” install?

I have installed and deleted tens (if not hundreds) of WP blogs, it never happened what you are describing.

    Who is your host Donderblitzen?
