Uninstalled

When I first put WordPress on my server years ago, JetPack came recommended. Sure, it had bloat, but it was a nice, FREE, one-stop place. So for years, I used it. But then the folks who run JetPack said, “We need to charge these scum for anti-spam stuff!” So even if you have what amounts to a vanity site that literally gets about 2¢/month in revenue, that means you need to lose even more money.
So while I raged at losing access to the anti-spam stuff from JetPack, I got another plugin and moved on. Then when JetPack suddenly needed money to auto-post stuff to social media (’cause that apparently needs a massive development team to support it) beyond a few posts/month, I raged, but I just started doing my own social blasts.
The final straw came when I discovered JetPack now charges to look at bloody stats. I immediately disabled the plugin and am gone. The stats were nice, and the top-10 feature was neat (though I noticed recently that it stopped working correctly), but I’ll get that info elsewhere. Basically, JetPack is dying, and this desperate cash grab whereby they want to charge separate fees for all their bloated components will no doubt eventually force them to go under, unless there are enough suckers out there.
