I’m going to uninstall the plugin – it works fine, I’m just trying to remove bloat on my site due to page speed issues.

Setting it up, I had to add and change with a lot of DNS host stuff – if I uninstall it, what do I need to do to prevent issues with mails and my site/host/server?

    Thanks.

    Hi @waxaddict3,

Thanks for reaching out! To provide some context, the WP Mail SMTP plugin does not impact every page load unless you or your website visitors are performing email sending requests (e.g., contact form submission, password reset, user registration, etc.).

If you want to test your site’s speed issues, you can deactivate the plugin and see if there is any improvement.

However, if you want to completely remove the plugin and mailer configuration, you need to uninstall the plugin and also undo the changes you made to your DNS manager. You can see all the available mailers from here and identify which mailers you have configured on your site. Then you should be able to remove those changes.

    I hope this helps. Thanks!

Hey Darshana, sorry for late reply here.

No worries, I kept it – you are right. There’s no real speed issue from having it installed, it just runs when mails are sent.

    Thanks!
