Uninstalling & ReInstalling Plugin

    About 2 weeks ago we started having problems with the plugin not being able to upload images from our media library. We have not changed the theme nor added any other new plugins.

    I submitted a support request and the solution was to deactivate all plugins and switch themes. We can not do this fully as we have a large production site. I did deactivate many plugins, I did not switch the theme, and still not able to import from media library.

    My only other option is to either uninstall the plugin and reinstall it, fully realizing I loose any galleries I already have. Not good, but acceptable if it fixes the problem. Or, uninstall and look for another solution.

    One thing I would like to explore before I look for another solution is to the Pro version will fix it. I don’t mind spending the $, but only if it fixes the problem.

    If I unstall and install witht the Pro version, would that be advisable?

    It’s just weird that all of the sudden a couple weeks ago we are no longer able to import from our media library.

    Hi Terry,

    We are sorry for the trouble and frustration you have faced.

    Please hold the process of uninstalling/reinstalling just yet. This problem could be related to the permissions of Photo Gallery upload directories.

    Could you please check this? The following folders permissions should be 755:

    /wp-content/uploads/
    /wp-content/uploads/photo-gallery/ (and also its sub-folders, if there are any)

    We have the same issues on our site as well. Permissions were already 755 but reset them again just to be sure, and having the same issue. We have a very large gallery and a ton of photos, so I suspect that may be part of the issue.

    Plugin doesn’t hang when I load options panels or things like that, but it takes a couple minutes to load /admin.php?page=galleries_bwg and really any function dealing with actually adding images and galleries. We have 1894 items in the gallery right now, if that helps.

    Hi, I am having the same issue….I cannot upload any images to the gallery (via Add Images or Import from Media Library. I have deactivated several plugins and nothing has worked, and my folders are set to 755. Please advise.

    We are kindly asking you to provide also PHP error log. You can contact your hosting server’s support and ask them to provide this information.

    Also, please open Developer tools of your browser on the page with this issue and look for Javascript errors on Console tab.

    If possible, please send us a screenshot or a copy of the errors you see.
