• Zakra seems to have completely taken over my WordPress installation. How do I deactivate and uninstall Zakra and it’s theme loaded content?

  • Hi, @nepherim,
You can uninstall the theme from Appearance > Themes. If you’re having trouble doing so, please let us know in detail. Also, you can reset the site using any Reset plugin available in the WordPress plugin repository.

Finally, if you’ve any issue with using Zakra theme, you can ask us here more specifically so that we can help you better.

This is not even close to an answer. Zakra is a mess of an installation — be warned fellow travelers. There is no one-click removal of this theme – backup before using.

If you install Zakra here’s what happens:
    1. The site header is changed.
    2. 4 plugins are installed.
    3. The Reading > Home page is changed.

In addition, if any Zakra demo is installed, you now have the fun of identifying and removing:
    4. Additional page content with no categorization. This makes identifying demo content tedious.
    5. Additional images, again with no categorization.

None of these changes are undone with the removal of the theme. Frankly, it’s a mess. In addition the Reset plugin takes WordPress back to it’s original state, not the state before installing Zakra. So if you had content you were trying to display under Zakra, you have now lost it.

    Hi there,

Firstly, we are sorry for any inconvenience caused.

The demo import is recommended to be performed on a fresh/empty WordPress install and it will import demo content so that the user can modify it later. Also, the theme leaves the notice message mentioning what it does after clicking the import button as below and only after clicking the next ‘OK’ button the import action takes place.

Importing demo data will ensure that your site will look similar as theme demo. It makes you easy to modify the content instead of creating them from scratch. Also, consider before importing theme demo:
    1. It will install the required plugin as well as activate them for installing the theme demo.
    2. You need to import demo on fresh WordPress install to exactly replicate the theme demo.
    3. None of the posts, pages, attachments or any other data already existing in your site will be deleted or modified.
    4. Copyright images will get replaced with other placeholder images.
    5. It will take some time to import the theme demo.

It is on the user on how would they like to proceed further. We will take ‘situation on your case’ as feedback, and will try to improve the theme on this case in our version updates.

Also, the same thing goes for the reset plugin, I believe it should have also informed you about what will happen next before moving forward with the reset action.

Thanks. I hope the explanation above explains better on our demo import process.

Okay so I am not the only one that this has happened to.

so the only answer is to reinstall WordPress????

There is no plugin to clear it so my solution is?

I have the same problem too but it looks like no one is replying to @johnbatchelor66

    Hello! Is anyone there?

    Hi @kenworksathome,
There are a lot of plugins available in WordPress Plugin Repository to reset the site. It will delete all the imported data.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have a problem doing so.

    Thanks.
