Unique downloads per service

  • Hi,

    Your plugin gets me some way towards my goal in that it disables downloads for the services I select.

    I have the slightly unique scenario whereby the service I sell results in a customised digital product in the form of a report.

    This report is unique per order.

    Do you think it’s feasible to extend your plugin and or EDD to allow downloads to be added to an order after successful payment?

    For example:
    – I list the product as a service on the website.
    – Someone purchases the service and send me some additional info in order for me to produce a report for them.
    – I produce the report and would like to give them access to download the report via their order history on the website.

    I’d recommend hiring a developer and building this as a plugin that integrates with EDD and EDD DAS.

    Funny you should say that, I am a developer.

    I was hoping that since you’ve already worked with EDD on similar functionality that you may be able to a) give me your opinion on if you think what I’m trying to do is actually possible and b) give me some pointers on what actions/filters I should be looking to modify.

    Yes it’s possible but it’s hard to say what hooks to use until you actually start to build it.

    One you will want to use is edd_complete_purchase. This fires after a successful payment has been made. It makes the payment ID available to you so should be very useful for what you need to do at that point during the order.
