Unique title overwrites posts with same title

    I want the plugin to generate unique titles, which i assumed would happen if i disabled title and then checked require unique title, or at the very least give me an error… instead it uploads the new post… overwriting the existing post i assume because only the one post still exists. How can i fix this? i need it to at the very least throw an error that there is a duplicate post name and ill enable titles, but ideally id like it to just make new posts.

    nevermind i had a redirect enabled and your errors only post to the original form so if there is a redirect, errors do not show… bit of a flaw…

    i would recomend your unique title option to default to creating a title with the username or submitted name or any option would be useful

    Thanks for the feedback. Normally the way it works if you have enabled to require unique titles, the plugin checks the post title to see if the title already exists. If it does, an error is returned:

    “Error: Duplicate post title. Please try again.”

    That way, the user can modify the title to something original. If this functionality is not desired, you can disable the unique-title option.

    Yeah it was a weird combination of options that i had set that made that non visible..

    i turned off titles, so the user cannot change the title.. which causes a problem with unique titles turned on.. maybe just a note on the options to point that out.

    ans teh second part was i had set the redirect to something else… so when the error would normally be show i was just redirected to the other page without knowing of an error, so i would recommend maybe making the error into a popup or making the redirect only happen after success rather than on all results.

    great plugin though.
