Unistall Multisite

I have a WordPress plugin that I installed with softcalculous. Unfortunately I installed it with multisite thinking I might use it. Well, I ended up not using multisite, and now not only is it annoying, but there are some plugins that I need that don’t run on multisite. I tried following the instructions to remove multisite, but it doesn’t work on a site that has been installed by a script. Can anyone shed some light on this.
I thought about reinstalling WordPress and importing the xml of my old site, but the problem is that I am using buddypress, and as of now, there is no way to transfer buddypress over to another site.
