I use this plugin to simply display a rich content ad that changes weekly.

The current shortcode is [the_ad id=”342″]. I set up a slightly-modified (date) ad for each week that starts on a Monday and ends on a Sunday.

I just realized that each ad has a unique shortcode that means I still have to place the shortcode each week. Is there a code to display the current active ad?

I know that I am under utilizing the power of your plugin, but this is just what I need for my simple task. Thank you in advance.

    Hi dacree1,

    Thanks for posting this question.

Managing the current ads from a central place is better than editing multiple posts every week.

I recommend creating a manual placement, that you can also inject with a shortcode. You can find it’s shortcode below the placement’s title. Then, you can decide if you assign your ad to this placement, or if you create an ad group instead, which contains multiple ads.

On the one hand, you could show different ads in the same position. On the other hand, you could also plan your ads better. For example, I would use the schedule function to set up the ads for an entire month, and not to do it every week.

    Best regards,
    Joachim
