    Hello,

    1. I noticed my clients website is generating constantly lines of errors in the server log WordPress database error Unknown column ‘match_url’ in ‘where clause’ for query SELECT * FROM wp_redirection_items WHERE match_url IN

    2. I tried downgrading to 2.4 and upgrading back to latest version – no luck.

    3. Tried saving permalinks – no luck.
    4. When I deactivate the plugin the hundreds of lines of errors disappear and only WP-CRON related are left

    5. How do I get rid of the errors?

Currently I am investigating why my clients server has internal server errors from time to time and hosting provider also suggest that these errors could be a potential reason

    Thank you!

Do you have any errors when upgrading? Something is preventing the upgrade from happening. This may be related to some caching system.

These are not causing internal server errors.

    Hi John,

    Thank you for your answer.

When I update the plugin I didn’t encounter any errors.

Caching on this WordPress seems to be managed by the hosting…

What would you recommend in order to get rid off this DB error?

    Thanks!

    Hello,
Any update, please? The error keeps recurring in DB.

Something on your site is preventing the upgrade from happening, but not reporting any errors. I don’t have any recommendations for that as it is specific to your site.

You can use the manual upgrade option.

    Hi,

    1. How do you know that the upgrade is not working? How can I check that the upgrade is done correctly? Because in the Plugins I see that plugin is of latest version.
    2. How to perform a manual upgrade – do you mean via FTP update files manually?

If you get the error then it hasn’t been performed correctly.

There is a button on the DB update page that gives you the SQL to manually update your database. You then go and do that, and come back and tell the plugin it’s done.

    Hi,

Thanks for the quick reply, but I don’t understand what steps do I need to perform. We were talking about updating the plugin, now you mentioned DB update and SQL… Confusing.

Could you please provide clear step-by-step instructions?

    1. There is a button on the DB update page that gives you the SQL to manually update your database.? – I only know this https://www.fecc.ee/wp-admin/upgrade.php or what do you mean?
    2. You then go and do that, and come back and tell the plugin it’s done. – How do I tell the plugin it’s done?
    3. https://www.fecc.ee/wp-admin/upgrade.php – is stating that the DB is up to date.

    From your original message:

    2. I tried downgrading to 2.4 and upgrading back to latest version – no luck.

When you upgrade to the latest version there is a manual upgrade option. Use that to get the database queries, and perform them yourself (whatever method you have for accessing the database).

How do I tell the plugin it’s done?

There is a button on the plugin to do that.

    Hi John,

Could you please clarify, I am lost now.

I tried manually installing 2.4 version and then clicking Upgrade from the WORDPRESS / PLUGINS menu.

Is this the correct approach or downgrade/upgrade should be done differently? If differently, please let me know how to it.

Is there a guide online, article info or something?

    Plugin Author John Godley

    (@johnny5)

No no, not version 2.4 of the plugin. If that is what you meant in your original message then it’s definitely not the thing to do.

If you have read about version 2.4 somewhere else then it refers to changing the Redirection database to version 2.4, which you can do from the ‘support’ page. Please use the latest version of the plugin and change the database version to 2.4 from the support page, then follow the instructions.
