Hi, for the last few months I’ve been getting a message that an email could not be delivered. It is an email that is sent to this address: [email protected] with the mention: “Recipient address rejected: User unknown in local recipient table”. I can’t find out in the settings why this email is being sent and how to stop sending it. Can you help me?

    Hey there!

Thanks for contacting MailPoet, happy to help.

This is being used in the plugin for some things related to testing. If you’re sending test emails, etc.

Where are you seeing this error? What are you doing that is triggering seeing this error?

    Hello,

sorry for the late respons. I was creating a new newsletter but not sending it. I don’t know what the trigger is for the email I received afterwards. This text below is the content of that email:

This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

      [email protected]

        host mx1.dfw.automattic.com [192.0.84.151]

SMTP error from remote mail server after RCPT TO:<[email protected]>:

        550 5.1.1 <[email protected]>: Recipient address rejected:

??? User unknown in local recipient table

I hope that this information can help you to solve this problem.

    With regards, Wim

    Hi @mooieplaatsen,

Thanks for getting back to us!

This has been implemented in version 4.1.1 to check if the mail function of the site is available and working as expected.

The email should be triggered when activating/updating the plugin and when testing your sending method.

We’ll work to improve this in the future so you won’t receive these bounces.

    I hope it’s clearer!
