    Hi,

I recently scan my website and i got 1432 warning saying :

    – “Unknown file in WordPress core: wp-includes/widgets/._class-wp-widget-calendar.php type: File”

    OR

    – “Unknown file in WordPress core: wp-includes/js/tinymce/plugins/image/._plugin.min.js Type: File”

Every warning is about a file with a “.” at the beginning.

Should I delete all the files ?

    Thanks !

  • Hi @jowsi,
A . at the start of the file name could indicate an attempt to hide the files. It’s possible that this could be malicious but it could also be something unusual your web host did. Have you tried reaching out to them to inquire about how the files may have ended up there?

I presume it should be safe to delete them but I would recommend you investigate how they ended up there first.
