google for an online md5 generator. use it to find out the what your encrypted password looks like. copy it and paste it int the appropriate field in the wordpress database. you can use phpmyadmin to edit the tables directly.

That being said… the link in the second post is a walkthrough of the exact same thing.

And note that by default your username is “admin”. Have you tried the “email me my password” option yet?

podz, thank you for the tip. i did not reset, but found the email address i was using and had WP send me a new one. great help for the future if needed.
