Unknown user registering

    Hi
    my website is closed and I’m using a coming soon plugin that redirects all pages to ‘coming soon’. There is a user (I think a bot) who is creating accounts. I’m not sure how! I tried rolling back to a backup (all in one wp migration) from a week ago, and still facing the problem. I also deleted the WordPress and installed the backup on a fresh WordPress on my same domain and the problem still exists. You can check the screenshot to see the user and the domain.

  • You can disable your user-registration by routing to Settings > General and then do the following:

    Search a checkbox that says “Anyone can register” Uncheck this, so nobody can register on your blog. Now when someone accesses the login page, there will no longer be a “Register” link they can use.

    Thank you. I tried that. it does stop them from creating accounts, but unfortunately this doesn’t resolve my issue since I want to open registration soon when I’m done with the design.

    Try anti spam plugin’s or integrate google recaptcha on registration page
