unload theme on wamp local install not working

  • I have installed wamp 2.4 on a 64bit windows 7 machine with wordpress 4.3.1 The installation seems to work fine but won’t let me install or upload themes. I go to appearance->Themes->add new->upload themes nothing happens. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling both wamp and WordPress several times still the same results. I am not sure what to do next.

    Please help…..

  • Hi Anthony,

    Installing WAMP on Windows can be a headache – often because database and web servers are not allowed the needed rights to open ports.

    What I suggest:

    1) Re unistall everything
    2) Install latest version of WAMP AS ADMINISTRATOR
    3) Restart Windows 7
    4) Check you can access it by https://localhost in any browser
    5) If you see “page not found” disable IIS – it tries to use port 80 by default (disable IIS service in Windows Control Panel)

    I tried this with no luck. I was able to access https://localhost without a problem. So I never had to disable IIS.

    Does anyone else have a suggestion?
