WordPress version: 4.0
WP eCommerce version: 3.8.14.4
Gold Cart version: N/A
Theme: Twenty TwelveI done all five bulleted items as listed here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/read-first-before-posting
I did this:
– Setup WP eCommerce with only target market as Australia
– Setup only shipping ‘Flat rate’ as described here https://docs.getshopped.org/documentation/individual-product-shipping/, with $0 as domestic flat base rate, and left all international locations base shipping values empty (makes no difference if I set all international locations to $0 though anyway).
– Display per item shipping: Yes
– Added products as seen at https://staging.tenmoons.com.au/shop/
– For each product, set the ‘Shipping’ > ‘Flat Rate Settings’ > ‘Local Shipping Fee’ as either $5.00 or $7.50 ($7.50 for heavier items).
– Added item ‘Grape Seed Pillow’ to my Shopping Cart (Price $15, Shipping $5), as seen at https://staging.tenmoons.com.au/shop/product-category/grape-seed-pillow/
– Viewed Shopping Cart (https://staging.tenmoons.com.au/shop/checkout/)I expected WPeCommerce to do this:
– To automatically list the shipping price of $5 in addition to the $15 price of the product, and show a total of $20.Instead it did this:
– Product price $15, but Shipping Price listed as $0.
– I have to click the ‘Calculate’ button under ‘Calculate Shipping Price’ on the Cart/Checkout page (https://staging.tenmoons.com.au/shop/checkout/), when the shipping price is already known and there is nothing to calculate, just in order to see Shipping of $5 and Total of $20.Why should my users have to click ‘Calculate’ Shipping Price when the shipping price is already stated on the pages and known (ie. doesn’t need to be calculated)!? It’s an unnecessary step in this situation, and one which I believe is likely to increase abandonment of my client’s Shopping Cart.
Note that the same also applies with the ‘Fixed Rate’ Shipping option plugin enabled and configured for ‘Standard rate: $0’, and/or if I select a ‘Flat Rate’ base shipping rate of something other than $0 (eg. $5, in which case I still have to click ‘Calculate’).
