• Hi, I’m not even sure this is a question for wordpress but I hope it is. My host is bluehost and I opened a website through them several years back. About a year ago I unpublished it through the wordpress website dashboard and I wanted to know whether there’s a way to re-publish it if I want to. I don’t know if this is a question for wordpress or bluehost. When I tried to enter through wp-admin I received a There has been a critical error on this website notice. But if I try to download wordpress and start over, I receive a notice saying that there is a website on this domain. I’m a newbie so I apologize if this is a dumb question.

  • When you visit your website and you are having “There has been a critical error on this website” error it means your WordPress website is there but having some critical errors. You can debug the errors and solve them by turning on debug mode from wp-config.php file like below.

    define( 'WP_DEBUG', true );

    Once you access the back-end, take backup first and then update all plugins and theme along with WordPress. Also, update php version from bluehost.

    If you are not so familiar then you can hire someone who can do it for you.

    Thanks for your reply. Honestly, I understood nothing…I’m not an IT person. Is there any simple way to fix this? I don’t want to hire someone because I created this website on my own and it’s very basic.

    We understand WordPress can be a lot to deal with at times especially if you are new. Typically you should be able to re-publish the website through WordPress. If you haven’t already done so, please reach out to our live support by calling 844-303-1730 or at our website with 24/7 help chat and provide them with the error message you’re receiving so they can better assist you.?

    Thank you for your reply. I’ll try to contact you by phone as your chat doesn’t work (not even in another browser and not even in the afternoon). I’ll be happy to receive some help in trying to navigate my way around the system.
