Unresponsive script wp-includes/js/swfobjects.js?ver=2.2:4

  • I noticed that the favicon in the browser bar keeps spining and this morning after a fresh restart I got the message from Firefox:

    unresponsive script wp-includes/js/swobjects.js?ver=2.2:4

    My site is https://www.vernede.nl and I’m running all the latest versions of WP and plugins.

    How to proceed to find the cause?

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

    Thanks for all your advice!! Somehow the problem is gone for the moment. Uploaded a part of WP again.
