• Hey gang,

I uploaded the theme to wp-content/themes and it doesn’t show in my Presentation and of course doesn’t show on my page either. What am I doing wrong? Is it for a earlier version of WP and I need to update the theme? If so, how do I go about doing that?

    Thanks!
    Erik

    any ideas?

Don’t know the theme, are you sure it’s only in one Unsleepable folder? In other words when you look inside the uploaded folder, you see an images folder and the theme’s various php files, not another Unsleepable folder?

    Yep. Double checked that twice.

Well…. I just lost all my emails, bookmarks, etc. when my boot drive crashed, so I don’t have the emails referring to this problem, and I just did a search back through my profile…. and can’t find what I’m looking for either.

Try a search for themes not appearing or variations thereof. Was a pretty long thread back a week maybe (not sure…. how time flies when you’re as old as I am and havin’ fun like dead hdds….) – had to do with “I’ve done everything I was supposed to, and everything suggested here, and it’s still not working….” And I can’t remember what the whole thing was in the end, though the lady did send me the login stuff for her site…. oh wait….

Her actual install wasn’t where she thought she was loading up the files….

No dice, all talk about double folders…I know there isnt a double folder. What else should I be looking at?

Well, as I said, the last person was uploading to the wrong wp folder – her site was hosted by a friend (if I remember right), and there were a bunch of wp folders, only one of which was the “right” one. Once I pointed her to the “right” one, she was good to go.

And that’s the only other thing I really know about it. Is the theme you’re using one which works with 1.5 and newer? Does it have an images folder, a style.css with the right theme info in the comment section at the top, and files like header.php, index.php, sidebar.php, footer.php?

Are you able to switch to default and classic themes? Is it just that you’re not seeing a graphic for the theme you’re trying to use?

Well I deleted the other themes…but yeah, all those are there.

Try putting the default and classic, and maybe a couple of others back, and see what happens.

    Tried…no luck.

How do you mean, “no luck”? You mean none of them are selectable?

I installed theme still doesnt show

Y’know, cryptic answers aren’t helping. What theme did you install? Default? And THAT theme is still not showing in the presentation screen?

    (@erikschurig)

No, sorry vkaryl im doing this while I do 25 other things. Those themes show up…mine doesn’t.

Well, I’m sorry, but if you’re multitasking while you’re trying to sort out something complex, you need to stop.

So that pretty much leaves only one thing: the upload got corrupted. Redownload a fresh distro of the theme, extract, reupload. Or simply upload the compressed distro to server space, and unzip there.

    https://openswitch.org/unsleepable

thats the theme…v2 I downloaded and try again twice…nothing.

Is it possible this is for the older wp? and if so…how do I bring it too the current one?
