Unsubmitted Forms

  • I have an issue with users sometimes completing a form but not submitting it before leaving that page.
    I tried a plugin “confirm-leaving” from another site. However this always triggers a warning even when they do hit submit.
    Does anyone know of another solution?

    While it is hard to control users’ behavior, there may be some settings on the plugin you are using to create your form that will provide a popup or similar thing when the form is not submitted. If not, you may want to explore other form plugins that have that built in rather than adding a second plugin.

    Unfortunately the plugin used does not have such a feature. I also think it would be a useful feature for other forms so am surprised there is no general plugin for this.

    Adding plugins for specific actions is a little dangerous since various plugins can conflict with each other, and it is impossible to predict when that will happen. On another note, you may want to spend some time exploring why transactions are not completed since that is really the root of the problem.
