Unsure of how to amend page URL

Usually when WordPress appends the “-2” to a slug, that means you still have the old content by the same name, probably in the trash, draft, etc. If so, try emptying it.

Thanks for replying to my post. I’ve tried for a day now to permanently delete the https://teresiancarmelitecentrecanada.com/carmelcopia/ file, to no avail. There in no numbers in the title, so the accompanying article in your post (https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/permalink-keeps-adding-2-to-new-pages/?view=all) doesn’t pertain to my particular situation. Are there any other courses of action I might undertake to remove the https://teresiancarmelitecentrecanada.com/carmelcopia/ file? Thanks in advance for any/all assistance.

Update March 6, 2020. I kept on thinking about what you said when I need to “delete” the page in question. (I hesitated in deleting it as I’m always hesitant about deleting anything when I’m not sure of the consequences of doing such.) To make a long story short, I DID delete the old page (/carmelcopia.com) and then created a new page with the same URL ending (/carmelcopia.com). It was a cinch from then on. My apologies for not “getting it” when what you told me to do exactly what I needed to do. My bad. Thanks again for setting me back on track, friend.
