I’m sorry your clients are struggling with the new version. You can continue to use the old version if you want, it still exists within the plugin.
Go to Ditty > Settings > Advanced and check the Enable Ditty News Ticker (Legacy code) checkbox and Save Settings.
You’ll need to refresh the page after this and you’ll see News Tickers (legacy) located at the end of the Ditty submenu. You can continue to use this as opposed to the new version if that is easier for your clients.
Can you explain what your clients are getting hung up on with the new version? I know it doesn’t look anything like the old version, but the general concepts are very similar.
Instead of selecting a single Ticker Type and adding items, you now add Items and can select different types for each (if you want). This allows users to mix and match different types much easier than the previous version. If you’re only using the default type (custom text) you don’t need to worry about this. Edit the Item by hovering over it and selecting the Edit Item icon. Add more Items by click the Add Items button or selecting the Clone icon when hovering over an existing item.
The Ticker Mode tab from DNT has now become Display and work very similarly, besides looking different. Select the display tab and select select one of the Display options. You can edit the display by hover over the selected Display and selecting the Edit Display icon.
There are also now Layouts which are attached to individual Items. These are basically editable templates for how your Item should render. You don’t need to do anything with these unless you want to customize how your Items looks.
