• Hello!
Im still fairly new to css matters and because my site is slow (mainly on mobile) im looking to remove unused css. Ive been researching and found video tutorials on doing so such as this one. Before i do anything, I would really appreciate advice on what to do to prep (backup site, etc), what are things that may go wrong, as a beginner what should i limit myself to editing/what should i avoid until im more experienced, and any other advice you may think of. When using the chrome developer ‘coverage’ tool, should i remove all red css (red indicates unused) or could some of them be important and used one day.
    Much appreciated!

  • There are a lot of optimization plugins that do this work for you. Of course you have to configure them according to your project. Properly implemented, however, you can achieve very good results – without having to fiddle with the source code yourself.

Here you can find a selection of plugins for this: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/tags/performance/

Before you do anything it is always worth to make a backup of your project.
