• The TwitchPress plugin is causing a new user some issues when they attempt to access a setup wizard on a URL like this (replaced original domain)…

    https://www.domain.tv/wp-admin/index.php?page=twitchpress-setup

Despite many other users accessing the setup wizard, this domain is causing “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.”.

    • .htaccess file does not show anything unsual
    • Affected users all have administrator role
    • No role scope plugin is installed
    • WordPress is updated
    • Plugins are updated

Does anyone have any further ideas on what could cause this in one blog but not many others which are also live and have been using this plugin for months?

    Thank you

I recommend asking at https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/channel-solution-for-twitch#new-post so the plugin’s developers and support community can help you with this.

Moved to “fixing wordpress” as this is not related to development.

    I am the developer lol

That is what makes this issue “Unusual”.

The plugin is being installed on fresh blogs without issue. This one case suggests a permission problem for the main administrator on a blog that has no role editing plugins and everything else seems to be alright.

The only difference I can see is the fact that it is a .tv domain. Been a long time since I got stuck like this has to be something silly eh!

This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.

If you can install plugins, install “Health Check”: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/health-check/ On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site. You can then use its admin bar menu to turn on/off plugins and themes one at a time.
