unusual users appearing

That began for me a few days ago, and I just delete them. I would guess those registrations were automated, and I might do some blocking if they continue for very long or increase.

Ive been deleting them too, but it gets annoying ??

Do you use a captcha on your signup page? It might help. You could also use a plugin which adds another small level of security.

Something like this at the bottom of your signup form:

9 – _ = 5

Then, the user would have to enter the number 4 in the spot. This makes it difficult for bots to run hacks on your signup page.

a good tip thanks, but I am using subscribe2 plugin and have no problems on any of my other sites. and the users dont appear as subscribers on that, just users. I cant see how they are coming in.

I have added a captcha and its made no difference, still users coming in every day! aaarrhhh.

What problems are these users causing?

nothing really, as yet anyway. Just a bit concerned its part of something else. I have about 40 blogs, and this is the only one its happeneing to.
