• Hi,

I’ve come across some unusual looking folders in /public_html/wp-content/plugins/ with six random characters after wp-admin like below ..

    /public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-admin-Rw27Yth
    /public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-admin-qiT6yTs
    /public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-admin-DeZtdY

They contain a zip file of a plugin, plus extracted folders of that plugin.

Were these created when a plugin was uploaded?

Is it safe to remove them?

    Ta,

    Sal.

  • Hello @sallymoos

They contain a zip file of a plugin, plus extracted folders of that plugin.

What is the name of the plugin you found on the zip file, do you have such plugin installed on your WordPress?

    Thanks @obt28

It’s Slider Revolution (revslider.zip) and yes, I have it installed.

This might be a normally behavior by the plugin.

If you still have any concerns please reach out to the plugin developers for
    clarification.

I hope this answers your question.

    Best,
