• This is not only related to wordpress 3.0 beta 1, it happens in 2.9.2
I am about to report this “bug”(?), but i have been a good boy and have read the docs.
I have noticed that i have configured the many widgets, for one theme.
then i decided to test another one, and went back to the original.
    what happened..??
every single widget area configuration that was not registered in the second theme was lost.
    this doesnt make sense,
    does it?

please, let me know if this is a bug, so i can report it to trac.

    thanks

Right, becasue it wasn’t registered. Not a bug.

Just like if you have a theme with two sidebars and switch to a theme with one, the second sidebar widgets will be removed.

If they are all one-sdiebar themes, and themeauthor1 calls the sidebar Sidebar and themeauthor2 calls it WidgetArea1, then yes – wordpress will see these differently.

sorry if i didn′t express clear enough:

every single widget area configuration that was not registered in the second theme was lost when i switched back to the first one
